…..”going green and doing our part for the environment”. The actual definition of green is “we are conscious of the environment and the possible negative impact that boats can have on it”
few examples of our green commitment :
· Rain catcher – being doing this since 2002
· LED lights – no filament, less heat, last 15x longer, use 80% less power therefore less fuel needed to burn to charge batteries
· Solar panels – charge batteries so no need to run engines so therefore fewer emissions
· Cleaning products – we only use “Citronox” which is a natural product and is not harmful to the environment
· Bio diesel – we only use this when we fill the tank, less Carbon monoxide, less carbon dioxide, less sulphur
· Holding tanks – we have for the toilets as well as gauges
· Engine bed – we have a trapment area so that oil and diesel cannot go to the bilge and get pumped into the sea. Only way to remove is by hand
· Rubbish bins – we have one in the galley and one in the cockpit
· Anti-fouling – we only use Micron CSC which is environmentally friendly
